House of Lords peer demands constituencies for British expats in Spain

Tyler-208x300In a similar arrangement that exists for French and Italian expats, Tyler believes that it is fairer than expats having a vote in their UK constituencies.

Since the former UK Prime Minister David Cameron’s promise to extend voting rights to expats was blocked, Peer Paul Tyler, former Lib Dem MP in Cornwall, speaking out for British expats living in EU member states wants all disenfranchised expats to be given their own MP. This is a scheme that works in Italy and France, and the petition for this to be considered in Parliament is already doing the rounds.
